Gerard Tsonakwa

Abenaki artist Gerard Tsonakwa has for many years fashioned images germaine to his culture from natural materials.  The Abenaki people, whose original homeland stretched from southern Hudson Bay in Canada to the northeastern United States, believe that the Great Spirit is in all things.  This respect and reverence for the natural world is reflected in Gerard's preference of wood, antler and the like in his work.  His masks and sculptures are highly sought after.   We are proud to show his newest creations.
