"Pogunuk"
   by Gerard Tsonakwa, Abenaki

Pogunuk was a Red and Blue Man, a kind of double agent. He was red on one side of his body and blue on the other. He would "sow dissent and inflame confrontations between enemies of the Abenaki peoples. Once conflict was started, they would shift alliances between combatants to prolong the warfare until both sides were fought to exhaustion. Then these depleted nations would be brought into confederation with the Grand W'Abenakis or become easy prey to our front line warriors of the Megassewin Societies."
